Metal bonder formulated to bond bare metals

3M™ has introduced Scotch-Weld™ metal bonder acrylic adhesive DP8407NS Gray. This high-strength, fast-curing structural adhesive offers high peel and durability and maintains its strength at temperatures as low as -40 degrees F, states the company.

The product is suitable for bonding metals before powder coating and paint processes, because it can withstand scorching temperatures of up to 400 degrees F for at least one hour, with the ability to bond active metals such as steel, copper, brass, and bronze.

The adhesive can bite through difficult surfaces, such as slightly oily metal with minimal surface prep. It is designed to stave off the corrosion that can plague metal surfaces over time, resisting solvent and outdoor exposure.
