Changeover system accommodates up to 10 torch bodies

Fronius Intl. has introduced the Robacta TX welding torch body changeover system. Its console can accommodate up to 10 torch bodies.
The device for cutting the welding wire is flanged onto the console. The system automatically cuts the wire before the torch body is changed, winds the wire back, actuates the interchangeable coupling, picks up the next torch body, winds the wire forward, cuts it to the correct stickout, and checks everything with a sensor system.
The compact design helps to shorten changeover times. Compressed air at 6 bar is sufficient to actuate the coupling. The system is suitable for gas-cooled and water-cooled torches.
