Applications Technologies Co. has developed the Flex System welding cell for high-mix fabrication environments. Designed around a Fanuc ARC Mate® 120iC robot, the cell's two welding zones each have a 30- by 72-in. welding area that can be set up for a mix of stationary tooling or servo-driven part positioning.

The cell has a compact footprint and rising safety barriers that prevent arc flash while allowing for loading and unloading.

The system includes the robot, a Lincoln Electric i-400 welder, a 500-amp Binzel torch, operator stations, and quick-change tooling tables with sensor junctions. Options include Motoman robot arms, part positioners, touchscreen controls, torch cleaning, and fume ventilation. Programming and welding engineering support also are available.
