Wand developed for GMAW/GTAW weld cleaning system

Walter Surface Technologies has launched the new Surfox™ Wand, compatible with the Surfox 304 GMAW/GTAW weld cleaning system. The wand, which features an ergonomic handle, is articulated for a wide range of motion. Its quick-change system allows the user to change accessories and clean larger and hard-to-reach areas at an optimal rate, says the company.

The wand is compatible with the manufacturer’s new carbon-fiber brushes with segmented sleeves, used for GMAW welds. The segmented sleeves on the brushes can be trimmed away with pliers up to three times.

The triangular brush is used for cleaning large surface areas, whereas the cylindrical sleeve brush is used for tight corners and spot welds. The wand remains compatible with the tungsten inserts and the high-conductivity cleaning pads.
