Tube cutoff automation can be customized

Bardons & Oliver has announced that, as an authorized FANUC Robotics integrator, it can customize its CNC and rotating-head tube and bar cutoff equipment and turning machines with FANUC controls, motors, drives, and robotic loaders and unloaders.

After the part is discharged from the machine, a positioning station locates the part so that the robot can grip the part properly. The robot can use a magnetic gripper to lift the part and can be programmed to tilt it to dump any remaining coolant left in the part.

For small parts, the machine can be programmed to let the parts randomly fall into a container and let a robot with 2-D or 3-D vision pick-and-place the parts at the next desired location.

With the ability to swing 180 degrees, the robot can service two machines by swinging from one side to the other.
