LED lights in hydraulic clamping system show press brake operator where to position tooling

Wila® USA has introduced the Smart Tool Locator, offered as an option on the company’s New Standard Premium Clamping System for press brakes. The locator uses LED lights integrated in the clamping system to show the operator where to position the tooling.

The lights are controlled by the press brake CNC. The locator also indicates to the operator where to make the next bend, following the bend sequence of the part that is being formed.

The lights are mounted behind the ruler inside the cover strip of the clamping system. This ensures the locator is protected from damage and does not interfere with the sheet metal part being formed.
