CAD program includes new tools for improved fabrication and assembly design

IronCAD has announced its 2016 product release, which the company reports includes improvements for customers working in the fabrication and assembly sector.

Sheet metal improvements include a new sketched bend command, which allows the creation of more complex bending operations. Users can import and use sheet metal data from customers or suppliers as if it were native to the software.

The new Smart eBehavior tool lets customers drive designs dynamically based on optimized product configuration and assembly fit and function. It works with how products are configured at the assembly level, allowing engineers to work with content, but also giving customers access to the software’s data.

The Mechanical add-in offers tools for fabricators such as industry-standard fasteners, steel sections, piping, flanges, and bill of material generation.
