CAM brought to the cloud

January 8, 2014

Autodesk Inc. has introduced Autodesk® CAM 360, a cloud-based system for computer-aided manufacturing. The system allows users to tap into the near-infinite computing power of the cloud and use collaboration tools and shared data storage.

The multiplatform CNC programming system transcends limitations associated with traditional desktop work flows, the company reports. Users can engage with co-workers and customers and turn around machining projects quickly. The system is built on the company's HSM technology for efficiency and effectiveness in the supply chain. Users can proactively address manufacturing problems or irregularities that might occur during the design to manufacture process.
