Simufact Engineering GmbH has finalized version 9.0 of Simufact.forming simulation software. In this release, dual-solver technology has been developed further and offers users the possibility to access MSC.Marc and MSC.Dytran from MSC Software.
The new version focuses on new application modules (open die and radial forging processes, ring rolling, and sheet metal forming) that allow a fully automated process simulation, including optimized meshing strategies.
The new ring mesher allows the simulation of any forming process with axial parts. The mesher delivers precise geometry with a minimum of elements, making it suitable for use in rolling processes.
The new sheet mesher allows simulation of sheet metal forming, starting with a 3-D CAD model of a blank sheet. Possible applications include forming of sheet metal used in structural components, such as in the automotive industry. This technology, in combination with the available further developments in the definition of complex kinematics, is suitable for use in spin and flow forming processes.
The software also offers enhancements for the simulation of cold massive forming.
