All-position stainless steel wire designed for cryogenic welding
Stoody®, an ESAB® brand, has introduced a new stainless steel joining product, Brilliant 308L T-1 Cryo. The gas-shielded, flux-cored wire has been designed for all-position welding in cryogenic applications with either 100 percent CO2 or argon/CO2 gas mixtures.
The 0.045-in.-dia. wire can be used to join AISI 304 in extreme-cold applications such as construction and maintenance of liquid hydrogen and LNG transfer lines and storage vessels. It exhibits a spray-like arc transfer and simplified slag removal, and it can be welded within a range of parameters.
Classifications include AWS A5.22/A5.22M:2012 E308LT1-1J/-4J and ASME II SFA5.22 E308LT1-1J/-4J.
