Electrode’s stable arc reduces burn-through

Select-Arc Inc. has introduced Select 430LCb-Mod metal-cored, ferritic stainless steel electrode. It offers an extremely stable arc that produces fast travel speeds with decreased burn-through and spatter, according to the manufacturer.

The electrode handles poor fit-up and gaps and can be used on thin materials. The high chrome content, combined with stabilization from niobium and titanium, provides similar heat and corrosion resistance to the base materials that are welded.

Available in 0.045, 0.052, and 0.0625 in. dia., the electrode is used for welding heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, ferritic stainless steels used in manifolds, mufflers, converters, and tubular components of automotive exhaust systems made of 430 grade materials.
