Metal-cored wires designed for heavy-equipment applications

July 26, 2012

Metal-cored wires designed for heavy-equipment applications - TheFabricator.com

Lincoln Electric has introduced the new Metalshield® MC®-90 and Metalshield® MC®-110 low-alloy, metal-cored wires. They are designed to produce high-strength, high-toughness, H4-diffusible hydrogen weld deposits required in applications such as heavy equipment and crane fabrication.

Suitable for both semiautomatic and robotic applications, the wires deliver low spatter and excellent arc stability, the company says. Enhanced silicon island management helps minimize slag and simplify slag removal.

The wires are available in 500-lb. Accu-Trak® drums, as well as 33-lb. plastic spools. They come in standard diameters of 0.045, 0.052, and 0.0625 in.
