Semiautomatic mitering band saw improves repetitive cuts

The Cosen SH-500M mitering band saw is suitable for various job shop applications. With a 13-in.-round, 11-in. by 19.6-in. rectangular capacity, the saw comes with a 3-HP motor and variable speed control from 75 to 247 FPM. An independent, mounted control console allows operators to stand on the infeed or outfeed side for simpler access. A work stop designed for quick setup helps optimize repetitive cuts.

The saw also features a work-height selector. When the head automatically rises after cutoff, operators can preset the work height to allow the head to stop just above the material. This feature is useful when making repetitive cuts, the company reports.

A large infeed and outfeed table gives operators more room to maneuver material.

Heavy-duty trunion and swivel-and-lock capability allow up to 60 degrees of miter cutting.
