Compact angle grinder has 10,000 RPM no-load speed

Metabo Corp.'s compact W8-125, a 5-in. angle grinder, is suitable for finishing welded seams, rough grinding for weld preparation, and sanding and cutting applications. The grinder employs cooling technology with repositioned brushes for unrestricted airflow and a fan that pulls air through the tool to keep it running cool during operation. The tool also features an 8.0-amp motor with 800 W of power, 19.5 in.-lbs. of torque, and a no-load speed of 10,000 RPM.
Double-lipped, labyrinth sealed bearings; a winding protection grid; and epoxy-coated windings protect the motor and other essential components from dust and debris, helping extend motor life.
The 5.4-lb. grinder features a secure racket grip and dual grip zones for optimal handling. An antivibration side handle absorbs up to 60 percent of the vibration and allows the operator to hold the tool longer, resulting in fatigue-free operation, reports the company.
Safety features include a toolless guard adjustment, a spindle lock, and an S-Automatic safety slip clutch to help protect the operator from kickback by absorbing the torque created if the wheel would bind or snag.
