Grinding wheel designed for demanding jobs
- March 17, 2014
- Product Release
- Cutting and Weld Prep
Walter Surface Technologies has introduced the Xcavator grinding wheel for tough jobs in metal fabrication, steel mills, mining, oil and gas, and shipbuilding. The heavy-duty wheel delivers the highest removal rate in the company’s line of grinding wheels.
The wheel, which features an aggressive, coarse front layer of enriched zirconium grain, has been tested on such hard resources as tungsten carbide, tempered steel, INCONEL® alloy, Hardox®, and boron steel.
Features include an extra-strong disc base/backing and the patented UHR multilayer manufacturing technology to prevent edge flakiness. Free of materials such as iron, sulfur, and chlorine, the wheel will not contaminate surfaces such as stainless steel.
