Ceramic flap discs grind all metals

CS Unitec's new PLANTEX® ceramic discs have been developed for grinding such metals as stainless steel, steel, aluminum, titanium, bronze, and special alloys. The abrasive structure helps reduce heat when grinding, preventing heat discoloration on the workpiece.

The discs feature a backing plate made of natural hemp with a polypropylene binder. This hemp fiber compound also provides insulation, vibration damping, and noise reduction. The discs automatically reduce in size during grinding, allowing 100 percent use of the abrasive fabric.

The discs are available in diameters of 4-1/2 and 5 in. and in grits of 40, 60, and 80. They are suitable for speeds of 5,000 to 8,000 RPM and can run on tools with a maximum of 13,200 RPM (for 4-1/2-in.-dia. discs).
