Integrated tool changer system added to press brake

Bystronic has added an integrated tool changer system to its Xpert press brake, allowing the machine to swap tools automatically. The sensor system and integrated robotics technology create a compact bending system that sets itself up.

The tool changer sets up the press brake with the upper and lower tools that are required for the job. The 6-axis robotic arm integrated in the press brake accesses the tool magazine, which also is integrated within the machine and houses numerous bending tools. The entire automation system is located within the press brake, protecting the robotics system and tool magazine from dirt and ambient influences.

In combination with the tool changer, the press brake offers a bending length of nearly 10 ft. Available press capacity is 150 to 320 tons.
