Spot welding robot features reduced profile

Yaskawa Motoman Robotics offers the MS80W II spot welding robot. The lightweight robot has a reduced profile compared to traditional high-payload spot welding robots. It offers simplified integration into SpotWorlds®, expanded wrist motion range to eliminate interference, and up to 70 percent less power consumption during motion and 25 percent savings during idle periods compared to previous models.

Servo gun cables and air and water lines are routed through the robot base and upper arm to help increase cable life and improve safety. A digital interface provides simple wiring to spot timers and allows weld programming from the robot pendant for Medar® and Nadex® brand timers.

Spot welding functions include work thickness detection, multistep pressure file, tip wear compensation, work search function, gun arm bending compensation, high-speed gun optimization software, and servo tip dresser.
