Weiler's Big Catâ„¢ abrasive flap discs are designed with large, thick flaps to conform to curved and irregular surfaces. According to the company, the high-density, Type 27 discs last 30 to 40 percent longer than standard flap discs. Typical applications include weld blending, grinding, deburring, deflashing, stock removal, surface finishing and blending, and edge chamfering.
The discs are available in 4.5- and 7-in. sizes, with or without a 5/8-11 nut, for grinding stainless, aluminum, titanium, INCONEL® alloy, and other hard-to-grind metals. These phenolic-backed discs are available in both aluminum oxide and zirconium.
The multiple layers of coated abrasive material expose sharp, fresh grains as they slowly wear away.
