Aluminum-oxide depressed-center wheels offer fast cut rate

Norton Abrasives has introduced Gemini XXL wheels, which it claims are the fastest-grinding, 100 percent aluminum-oxide depressed-center wheels on the market. They are suitable for hard-grade carbon steel applications, weld repairs, flashing, and jobs that require a quick turnaround.

The 0.25-in. Type 27 wheels are available in diameters from 4.50 to 9 in. and heights of 0.875 and 5/8-11 in. According to the manufacturer, the wheels provide 50 percent more life and metal removal than standard aluminum-oxide wheels.
