Ceramic flap disk provides cool, fast-cutting on hard-to-grind metals

Weiler's new Saber Tooth™ ceramic flap disk provides cool, fast-cutting action on hard-to-grind metals, such as stainless steel, according to the manufacturer. It features an aggressive, self-sharpening ceramic grain and a grinding aid that prevents dulling and glazing and allows for cool cutting to protect parts from heat discoloration.

The flap disk grinds and finishes in one step. It is suitable for weld blending, grinding, deburring, deflashing, surface finishing, and edge chamfering on hard metals.

The standard angled-style, phenolic-backed ceramic flap disk is available in 4-1/2-in. and 7-in. sizes. In addition, a trimmable flap disk is available in a 4-1/2-in. size. The trimmable backing helps enable access in hard-to-reach areas and is nonmarking to protect the workpiece.
