Deburring system designed with return-to-operator configuration

Abtex Corp. has introduced a compact, wet, Tri-Ten planetary-head deburring system in return-to-operator (RTO) configuration.

In a single pass, the system deburrs both sides of flat parts up to 4.5 in. in diameter. Drenching the workpiece with coolant as it is deburred helps to keep parts clean and extend brush life.

A magnetic conveyor carries parts through an offset planetary deburring head, where three Abtex fiber abrasive brushes deburr the upward-facing surface. The parts then move to a continuous parts turnover conveyor that flips them for the return trip through the brushes.

After both sides of the part are deburred, it passes under a final coolant rinse, followed by an air knife to blow off excess coolant. The part then is demagnetized before exiting at an opening next to the entrance.
