Depressed-center right-angle grinding wheel line expanded

Saint-Gobain Abrasives has expanded its line of Norton depressed-center wheels for right-angle grinding.

The Charger™ Plus and Gemini® lines now include INOX contaminant-free wheels, which contain less than 0.01 percent iron, sulfur, or chlorine for rust-free and corrosion-free results that prevent contamination of stainless steel. The Norton Metal line of aluminum-oxide and silicon-carbide products also has been expanded for end users looking for a competitive initial price, the company reports.

NorZon® Plus wheels have been updated with patented SG ceramic alumina grain and a new bonding system that provides two times the cut rate and up to 10 times the life of aluminum oxide wheels, according to the manufacturer.

All depressed-center wheels now feature heavy-duty, foundry-raised hubs designed for grinding in severe and stock-removal applications. A new marking system that shows decimal thicknesses from 0.040 to 0.125 in. is being implemented for wheels that are designed to be used on the periphery for cutting and notching.
