Disbonder gel effective on hard-to-remove coatings

Interplus® 634 paint disbonder gel from International Paint LLC has low VOCs and is effective on hard-to-remove coatings such as polyurethanes, alkyds, acrylics, and waterborn coatings. It does not contain ozone-depleting components or methlyene chloride, a possible carcinogen.

The gel can be applied with an airless sprayer or with a brush or roller at a thickness of 20 mils. The gel seeks the weakest bond between the paint and the metal substrate and creates an oxygen reaction that causes the paint to bubble up. The paint then can be peeled off in sheets by hand or rinsed away with a low-pressure wash.
