Elastic metal-cleaning disc suitable for thin sheet metal, cleaning welds on stainless steel, auto bodywork

MAGNUM CLEAN® is an elastic disc from CS Unitec Inc. for the deep cleaning of metals. The disc removes paint, rust, scale, and oil smears, cleaning and exposing without material removal. It is suitable for use in fabrication shops on thin sheet metal, for cleaning welds on stainless steel, and in the automotive industry for painting and bodywork.

The coarse fleece disc is coated with silicon carbide grit and cleans without harming the base material. The disc itself is iron-free to eliminate corrosion. The fleece material will not glaze or load, even if exposed to heavy contamination, the manufacturer says.

The discs are available in 5 in. dia. with a 0.625-in. material thickness and a 0.875-in. arbor. Recommended for use with speed-controlled angle grinders, the discs have an optimal speed of 2,000 to 4,500 RPM, with a maximum of 5,000 RPM.
