Flap brushes remove surface contaminants, oxidization

Even Cut Abrasive Co. offers flap brushes made from flexible, open-structured nylon web with embedded resin and aluminum oxide grain. The brushes are suitable for removing surface contaminants and oxidization and for blending and producing fine scratch patterns on aluminum, brass, and stainless steel.

For hand-held power tool applications, brushes come with a straight, round, 1/4-in. shank or 1/4-20 in. quick-change threaded shanks. For bench tools and production machine applications, the brushes are supplied with metal hubs or rigid cores, depending on the brush's outer diameter or the application requirements.

The brushes' open structure allows them to run cool and decreases the potential for smearing, chatter marks, and discoloration, the company says.

Available from 1-1/2 to 12 in. in diameter, the brushes come in widths from 1 in. to 48 in. in various grits and materials.
