Flat-head angle grinders reach confined spaces

Metabo Corp. has introduced a family of flat-head grinders. The low-profile design allows for access into confined spaces and narrow angles where standard grinders will not reach. Each grinder features a patented gear drive that allows for a very low-profile head design. With a clearance of 2.625 in., the tool’s design enables tight acute angles of up to 43 degrees.

The cordless version features the manufacturer's Ultra-M 5.2-Ah battery technology. According to the company, it has 75 percent longer run time than a standard 3.0 battery and 30 percent more run time than a 4.0 battery. The corded version, available early in the first quarter of 2014, features the manufacturer's patented LongLife motor, TC electronic speed stabilization, and electronic kickback protection.

The grinder features a slim handle design and a seven-position, locking, burstproof guard.
