Preblast roll conveyor provides flexible surface preparation method

May 12, 2009

The Wheelabrator® model 1824 structural preblast roll conveyor machine provides a flexible surface preparation method for a variety of structural shapes prior to fabrication. Preblasting helps reduce wear and tear on cutting tools such as band saw blades and drill bits.

The 18- by 24-in. cleaning envelope handles square and rectangular tubing, angular shapes, and I- and H-beams. Built with a wear-resistant manganese blast compartment, the roll conveyor comes equipped with four 10-HP, direct-drive blast wheels; cast manganese wheel housings; and cast manganese rolls in the blast zone.

Features include variable-speed work conveyor drive controls, a compensating flow air wash abrasive separator, and an elevator belt with cast-iron buckets. Options include external entrance and exit roll conveyors, abrasive return spill hoppers, and cartridge dust collectors.
