Roller conveyance shotblaster features zero-speed sensors

Viking Blast & Wash Systems has announced the release of the RT 6012 pass-through industrial blaster.

Measuring 60 in. wide by 12 in. tall, the redesigned unit incorporates starters with phase loss and imbalance protection. The newest blasters come with zero-speed sensors as standard on the driven end of abrasive conveyance shafts, helping reduce downtime when components wear out or fail. The aggressive air intake allows for application of more air through the abrasive stream for cleaner abrasive and a cleaner cabinet.

The cabinet is made of 11 to 14 percent manganese or AR 500, depending on the application. A cabinet lining of 0.5-in.-thick cast chrome/moly provides wear resistance. The wear-resistant roller conveyors have variable speed and reversing capability.

Options include a rotary scalping drum; auxiliary abrasive hoppers; and 20-, 25-, or 30-HP blast wheels versus the standard 15 HP.
