System prevents corrosion under insulation

The Intertherm® Cold Spray Aluminum anticorrosion system from International Paint LLC, an Akzo Nobel company, is designed to prevent corrosion under insulation (CUI) in chemical and petrochemical plant environments.

The formulation's polymer base can be utilized under insulation or in plant environments with continuous or cyclical high-heat conditions, including those where temperatures reach 750 degrees F. The cold-spray coating is easy to apply and provides excellent adhesion to metal surfaces, the company says.

In most cases, the coating can be applied without disruption to equipment operation or production schedules.
