Toolkit provides color, texture advice for appliance, electronics manufacturers

PPG Industries’ industrial coatings business has introduced Trendcast Styling Directions 2014, a portable toolkit created to help designers of appliances, outdoor furniture, electronics, and recreational equipment to identify trends in colors, textures, and surfaces for the next two years.

Thirty-five of the company’s global color experts from the Americas, Europe, and Asia have analyzed design trends and consumer preferences across geographic and product markets to determine the factors that influence future color choice. The result is a palette of textures and 38 colors organized into four themes.

The toolkit also contains tactile objects and effects to help users connect with consumers. Web-based palettes allow quick color referencing and a sample request program.
