Saint-Gobain Abrasives Inc. has expanded the Norton RightCut™ line of cutoff wheels for right-angle grinders with new, 0.040-in.-thick wheels.
The Norzon Plus RightCut is offered in the Best tier. It is made with the combination of Norton SG® seeded-gel ceramic alumina and Norzon zirconia alumina abrasives, in the fastest-cutting bond system.
Featuring a blend of zirconia alumina and alumina oxide abrasives, the Charger RightCut is in the Better tier. According to the manufacturer, it delivers two times the cut rate on stainless and carbon steel.
The Gemini RightCut and Metal wheels, offered in the Good tier, blend high-performance aluminum oxide in a variety of sizes and thicknesses. They are suitable for small jobs on many metals from carbon to stainless steel.
The line of wheels covers Type 01 straight and Type 27 depressed-center cutoff wheels from 4 to 6 in. They provide quick, burn- and burr-free cutting and low kerf loss, the company reports. All are full fiberglass-reinforced.
