Inductive proximity sensors detect more than one metal with no adjustments

Pepperl+Fuchs NRB/NRN series inductive proximity sensors with reduction factor 1 can detect every kind of metal at the same operating distance, as well as over greater distances than is possible with standard inductive sensors, the company states.

Cylindrical sensor models are available in diameters from as small as 0.26 to 1.18 in. with operating distances of 0.06 to 0.98 in. Cube-style sensors are available with dimensions of 1.57 by 1.57 in. or 3.15 by 3.15 in. with operating distances from 0.59 to 1.97 in.

The sensors are available with a PTFE-coated brass housing (cylindrical models) or a metal housing with a weld-resistant surface (cube-style models) to withstand the impact of metal shavings and hot weld splashes.
