Retrofit turns manual CMM into 3-D model-based inspection system

Verisurf Software has introduced complete CMM retrofits that add Verisurf X6 software and new USB communications to any manual CMM, transforming it into a 3-D model-based inspection system.

With the retrofit, users can perform model-based definition and inspection, with the ability to read GD&T directly from CAD or to create their own. Users also can read in all native CAD formats; create rapid CAD alignments with no iterations; create HTML, PDF, Excel, or AS9102 reports, including InspectionXpert; create real-time displays of complex profile deviations; digitize, reverse engineer, and create solid models, and use hard probes for digitizing and scanning.

Software configurations are customized to each user's application and supported by the manufacturer's metrology engineers.
