Sheet metal forming software permits quantitative piece cost analysis

AutoForm Eng. GmbH has unveiled its latest software version, AutoForm^plus R4. It allows users to quantify and evaluate all planning aspects of stamped sheet metal parts, such as function, quality, lead-time, and cost.

In this fourth major release of the product line, the user interface was built from the ground up to provide support for user ergonomics, increase productivity, and support comprehensive digital process planning, the company states. Step-by-step functionality helps users achieve a consistent, repeatable workflow through the stamping process chain.

The program allows a complete, quantitative piece cost analysis as material, production, and tooling costs can be determined at any stage of the planning process.
