Laser scanning unit 15 times faster than previous model

Hexagon Metrology has introduced the latest generation of the Leica T-Scan. At more than 15 times faster compared to the previous model, the unit has almost double the standoff distance, which results in more efficient data capture, especially in difficult-to-reach areas, states the company.

The unit is suitable for noncontact laser scanning for CAD-to-part inspections and reverse engineering applications and provides immediate feedback of critical features after design iterations. It typically is used in applications within the aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, and earth-moving industries. It also may be employed for automation and robotic applications.

When used in conjunction with the Leica Absolute Tracker AT901, the laser scanning unit captures hundreds of millions of accurate points on almost any surface, from a black matte to highly reflective.
