Noncontact tube inspection system measures tubes without risking deflection

Hexagon Metrology offers the Romer tube inspection system for measuring soft, fragile, or flexible tubes without risk of deflection.

New to the system are noncontact infrared probes that provide visual notification via a laser stripe indicating the measured area. To inspect brackets, flanges, or other geometric features, the probes are interchangeable with traditional ball probes, without the need for calibration. This plug-and-play feature saves time and provides an additional layer of errorproofing.

The patented Romer Absolute Arm CMM, in conjunction with the CAD-based software platform Data Overlay Camera System (DOCS), can communicate directly with most CNC tube benders for tube inspection, bend corrections, reverse engineering, and fixture verification.
