Wires designed for welding stainless steel

Designed for use with 75 percent argon/25 percent CO2 or 100 percent CO2 shielding gases, Hobart Brothers' McKay® ChromaWeld™ gas-shielded, flux-cored stainless steel welding wires are suitable for stainless steel applications in which weld bead appearance is important.

The wires produce a bright, flat bead profile while providing improved slag release and creating minimal spatter, the company says. They come in 0.045-in. and 1/16-in. diameters on 28-lb. vacuum-sealed spools. Available grades include 308L, 309L, and 316L for both flat/horizontal or all-position welding.
