6,000-W laser resonator enhances cutting speed

TRUMPF's TLF 6000, its 6,000-W CO₂laser resonator for flat sheet laser cutting, is available on its TC L 3050 and increases cutting speeds by 29 percent, the company reports.

The resonator is integrated with the linear-drive technology to allow the machine to take advantage of the power increase to exceed existing speed and acceleration values. It cuts at speeds to 1,900 mm per minute when processing thin sheets at high speeds.

With the resonator, the TC L 3050 laser can cut 1-in. mild and stainless steel and 5/8-in. aluminum.
