Dynamic-response laser machine cuts, welds, drills
- October 12, 2004
- Product Release
- Laser Cutting
Deckel Maho Gildemeister offers the Lasertec 80 FineCutting laser machine, which the company states is the first with high dynamic response for precision 2-D and 3-D cutting, welding, and drilling.
The machine offers precision of 0.00039 in., positioning speeds up to 4,724.4 IPM, and accelerations up to 1.5 g. The X/Y axis compound table with dynamic linear drives and a solid machine bed of polymer concrete on the three-point support eliminate vibration to help increase precision, the company reports.
Either an Nd:YAG solid-state laser or a CO2system can be integrated into the machine. At any point, the laser type and power can be configured to the respective requirements, not only for quality and speed, but the material as well.
For all applications, the laser is manipulated directly with a Siemens 840D Powerline controller, accessed from an ergonomic stainless steel operator console with a 17-in. TFT screen. At the same time, the CNC ensures that the operator can access the entire range of CAD/CAM systems established on the sector.
The laser machine has small space requirements (118.1 by 137.8 in.) and has a walk-on column for service access.
