Modular laser system cuts, welds small components

TRUMPF® offers the TruLaser Cell 3000, a 5-axis laser machine for fine cutting and precision welding of 2-D and 3-D small and medium-sized components. It processes applications from one-off prototypes to high-volume production.

With its solid-state laser options, available with up to 8 kW of power, the machine also is suitable for processing nonferrous metals in job shop, automotive subcontracting, and medical device manufacturing applications. According to the company, the focal position is easily matched to the thickness of the sheet metal, and the focus diameter can be expanded.

The modular system requires minimal floor space, since the electrical control, cooling units, and laser optics are integrated into the machine.
