Compact cell laser handles mass production, small batches

Arnold Ravensburg has introduced a compact cell laser for welding small, round components. Available from German Machine Tools of America (GMTA), the machine is available with CO2 or solid-state lasers. Featuring onboard loading and CNC programming capabilities, the cell is suitable for mass production or small batches.

Workpieces are loaded into the rotary carousel, either manually or by available robotic automation. The workpiece then is lifted into position, clamped, rotated in the C axis, and laser welded. A new workpiece is loaded during the clamp/weld phase.
