Flux designed for submerged arc welding

The Lincoln Electric Co.’s Lincolnweld® 888 flux™ is suitable for submerged arc welding in the offshore, pressure vessel, shipbuilding, and structural fabrication industries. The flux is classified to AWS H4 requirements for low diffusible hydrogen levels—under 4 mL/100 grams of weld metal.

Typical applications include narrow gaps requiring deep-groove slag removal; multiple-pass mild steel and low-alloy steel weldments requiring low-temperature impact toughness; stress-relieving specifying superior mechanical properties; and step cooling.
