Submerged arc flux designed for offshore welding

Lincoln Electric has introduced Lincolnweld® 842-H™, a submerged arc flux designed to meet welding requirements for the offshore construction industry. Suitable for typical offshore welding joints with narrow groove angles and heavy wall thickness, the flux has excellent slag detachability and superior bead profile and smoothness, according to the manufacturer.

The neutral welding flux helps lower the risk for delayed cracking. It can exceed impact toughness requirements at -76 degrees F and crack tip open displacement toughness at 14 degrees F.

The flux produces a smooth bead profile with low entry angles, suitable for cap pass welding in fatigue-sensitive applications. It features high current capacity for single- or multiple-arc configurations in AC and DC operation.
