Burs designed for machining steels

Pferd has developed a line of new burs optimized for machining steels, including hardened and heat-treated steels.

The tooth geometry of the STEEL Cut TC burs is designed to remove material 30 percent faster than conventional double-cut burs, according to the manufacturer. They provide smooth milling operation with reduced vibration and noise, yielding large chips to help reduce dust emissions, the company reports.

The burs are available in five shapes with 0.25-in. shanks.
