Horizontal machining center made for large parts

Okuma America Corp. has introduced the MU-10000H five-axis, high-speed horizontal machining center designed for challenging applications in aerospace machining, heavy equipment, and other large parts. The high-torque machine can run from a cold start because it resists thermal deformation, minimizing thermal growth, the company reports.

The machine handles workpieces up to 59.05 in. dia. by 44.29 in. high with a maximum weight of 5,500 lbs. A maximum 1,416 ft.-lbs. of torque are available from 50 RPM.
