November 4, 2013

Sugino Corp. has introduced the Self-Center™ H15 and H15B horizontal machining centers. They are suitable for high-precision milling, drilling, tapping, and boring of small to medium-size parts in aluminum, cast iron, and carbon steel, such as brake, engine, and transmission components. The centers feature BT30 high-pressure, coolant-through spindles.

Designed for saving space and energy, the H15 measures 4.5 by 9 ft. Its work area is 11.81 by 13.78 by 13.78 in., accommodating a weight up to 770 lbs. It reaches a maximum speed of 15,000 RPM.

The H15B is even more compact, with a 3.5- by 9-ft. footprint, and uses up to 25 percent less space and energy. It reaches up to 20,000 RPM and has a work area of 7.87 by 7.87 by 7.87 in., accommodating up to 1,100 lbs.
