Insert grade suitable for long production runs
Walter has introduced the Tiger•tec® Silver WPP05S, a wear-resistant, indexable insert grade for steel machining. Its thick coating with optimized aluminum oxide microstructure make the insert grade suitable for roughing forged components and long production runs. The postcoating treatment adds toughness and prevents chipping.
A new substrate delivers increased resistance to plastic deformation, making the grade suitable for high-speed cutting. A thick cobalt-enriched zone yields increased toughness and process reliability.
The insert is available in MP3, MP5, RP5, and NRF geometries.
