Jaw forming ring grips workpiece uniformly for cutting, forming operations

Dillon Mfg. offers a jaw forming ring that provides a uniform grip on the workpiece for cutting and forming operations. Mounted in direct contact with the top jaw, the ring preloads the chucking system. Jaw life for requalifying or reforming is maximized by lessening the amount of jaw stock removal required during parts setup.

Use of the device provides a jaw surface true to the machine centerline, helps reduce setup time, and helps increase uptime for running machined parts.

The jaw forming rings are available for 5-, 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-in. power chucks. They are capable of a variety of OD and ID jaw formations. Self-centering action provides equal pressure on all jaws, and the device compensates for jaw lift, even in worn chucks, which helps result in better parts concentricity.
