Machining center performs five-sided, five-axis machining

The new UMC-750 universal machining center from Haas Automation Inc. performs five-sided and simultaneous five-axis machining. The five-axis, 40-taper vertical machining center features 30- by 22- by 20-in. travels and an integrated dual-axis trunnion table that can position parts to nearly any angle for five-sided machining or provide full simultaneous five-axis motion for contouring and complex machining.

The 24.8- by 19.69-in. table features standard T-slots and a precision pilot bore for fixturing. The machine is equipped with an 8,100-RPM, inline direct-drive spindle and comes standard with a 40+1 tool side-mount tool changer.
